Optimize your omega-3 intake with a convenient daily supplement. Omega-3 fatty acids have been proven to better brain health, lower the risk of heart disease, and enhance post-workout recovery. Primal Omegas contain the highest possible quality source of the two essential types of omega-3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA.

Why Use Primal Omegas?

Why Use This

We all wish we could dine on wild venison and fresh-caught salmon every day, but due to inconvenience and budgetary constraints most of us just can’t. And polluted waters make daily salmon consumption a bad idea to begin with. Unfortunately, the best natural dietary source of omega-3s—coldwater fish—is frequently contaminated with mercury and pesticide residues, making it very difficult to safely achieve recommended levels. That’s why taking 1-3 grams of fish oil each day is a good way to restore your fatty acid balance. Supplementing your diet with pure, highly refined, pharmaceutical-grade fish oils has proven the best way to give your body the omega-3s it needs to survive disease free.*

Why Omega-3s Are So Important

The benefits of anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids are indisputable. Research shows that omega-3s deliver heart-healthy perks, help enhance the immune system, promote pain-free joints, nourish brain and nerve health and protect against chronic disease*. Primal Omegas provide the highest possible quality source of the two essential types of omega-3 fatty acids—EPA and DHA—derived from the fleshy parts of deep-water fish.* These are concentrated and refined to the highest levels of purity. Unless you’re eating fatty fish every day, you’re almost certainly not getting enough omega-3s and will likely benefit from fish oil supplementation. Omega-3s promote good heart health, provide essential fatty acids for the brain and help improve protein synthesis after workouts and counteract some of the pitfalls of modern life.*

Best Omega Supplement

Primal Omegas work best for me & my husband. We were without them when we traveled to Costa Rica for a short vacay and believe me we'll never do that again. We had such low energy and a spell of brain fog. We make it a point now to pack our Primal Omegas first.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the source of fish for the oil?

Our Primal Omegas oil comes from anchovies off the coast of Chile, which are processed in the United States exclusively.

How should Primal Omegas be stored, and for how long?

Refrigerating or freezing can prolong shelf life, but it’s not required. Each capsule includes the antioxidant vitamin E to help maintain freshness and potency for up to two years.

How much Omega-3 do I need per day?

Various sources suggest you get 500 mg of omega-3s in the combined forms of EPA and DHA per day. According to the American Heart Association (AHA), individuals with heart disease should consume 1,000 mg of EPA and DHA each day. For individuals who need to lower triglyceride levels, the AHA recommends 2,000 to 4,000 mg of EPA and DHA per day. If you have a heart condition or a triglyceride condition you should consult your physician for recommended dosages.

Can I get the same benefits from Flax oil?

You can’t. Some animals can convert the ALA form of omega-3 from flax into DHA/EPA, but humans just don’t have the machinery for it, and most of the omega-3 get wasted. Young women have a better conversion rate, but you’d be better off just taking fish oil.

What’s the difference between Omega-6 and Omega-3?

Both omega-3 and omega-6 are essential fatty acids that your body needs to sustain health, however, omega-6 is pro-inflammatory when consumed in excess, and omega-3 is an anti-inflammatory powerhouse. The modern diet of processed foods and pro-inflammatory industrial seed oils like canola oil, deliver whopping amounts of omega-6 and not enough omega-3, an imbalance that contributes to chronic inflammation throughout the body. A 1:1 omega-6:omega-3 dietary ratio helps keep dangerous inflammation in check. Seeing as how most omega-6 fatty acids can be found in vegetable oils, fake butter products, grain-fed animal fat and other modern contrivances, it is understood that Grok (or prototype of the primal human) rarely encountered them—especially not in the excessive levels most people see today.

What’s the difference between DHA and EPA, and what is the ideal ratio?

There are two key omega-3 fatty acids: DHA and EPA. They are both readily found in fish, and they each provide common and unique benefits. They have both been shown effective in reducing triglyceride levels. EPA has been shown to help alleviate cellular inflammation, and DHA aids in brain function. For this reason omega-3 fatty acid supplements typically contain both DHA and EPA. Because our bodies naturally convert some DHA from EPA, our Primal Omegas contain a little more EPA. Bottom line: as long as you’re getting a reasonable amount of DHA and EPA, the exact ratio doesn’t matter too much.
